Pediatric Dentistry

We Care for the Little Chompers, too!

At Arizona Associates in Dentistry, we believe comprehensive dentistry means meeting the oral health needs of every member of the family. We’re happy to help the smallest smiles grow strong, and the young ones they belong to deserve to feel rewarded when they take good care of their teeth! We aim to make appointments stress-free for parents, and fun and educational for those whose smiles are in the process of developing.

Instilling Good Habits

We know how quickly children learn and grow, and that they soak up information and emulate the behaviors of the people they’re lovingly surrounded by. This is why we feel it’s so important to teach them proper oral hygiene habits and bring them in to see us as soon as their first tooth makes its entrance.

Fight Decay Like a Superhero!

Your children might be excited to brush and floss if you approach the conversation in a way that makes sense to them. Do you have a young one that loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Let ‘em know that cavities can keep them from enjoying pizza with Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo. Tooth pain caused by decay can make it difficult for them to socialize and pay attention in school, and we know you want to prevent anything from negatively impacting their development. We do, too.

With a diligent routine in place at home and the gentle care of your Maricopa dentists, their smiles can remain a source of delight through each stage of growth!

Practice Makes Perfect!

Do you remember hearing this mantra growing up? We recommend following the guidelines below for happy, healthy smiles:

  1. Use a warm wet rag to gently wipe your baby’s gums before their first tooth emerges. It might sound funny, but it encourages healthy tissue growth and can even help soothe teething pain.
  2. When the first tooth emerges, bring your little one in to see us (usually around 1 year of age).
  3. Use a soft bristled children’s toothbrush and a pea-sized amount of children’s toothpaste to brush their teeth. You’ll want to brush their teeth for them until they’re able to hold the toothbrush themselves.
  4. Supervise your child’s brushing until it seems they’ve got the routine down like a pro.
  5. Be sure to bring them to Arizona Associates in Dentistry for checkups!
